I am a NH agent. I find it difficult to navigate various town websites for tax card/tax map info. Does anyone know of a place besides town websites that have card & map info?

Hi Moonstone --

Most towns in the southern part of the state have on-line record cards and a sizeable minority have functional GIS mapping. If it's just assessing data you need, have you tried the Warren Group? From my recent experience, something is wrong with their addressing so you need to fix the owner name before you can mail to a list from their data.

I don't know of a GIS provider for state-wide NH like MA has. Few towns had it five years ago, but now many of the larger towns do. And the assessor's usually still publish the tax maps in PDF form.

Let me know if there is a particular town that is giving you problems and maybe I can help.

Thanks a lot Longwalk. BTW, I joined KW & it was a good move. Sometimes I have wanted to leave but my particular office really stresses the whole idea of being an entrepreneur/individual.

I think that's a better approach or at least I respect that approach.

It also occurred to me that I can simply call town hall ask them to help me find whatever on their site.

Sometimes town halls are less than helpful...sometimes they bend over backwards to help. I have had good experiences with most of them...Barrington would be the exception.

If you are working in Maine and need mapping, I found this site today: Maine ArcGIS. It is an ArcGIS site offered by the State of Maine. It gives parcel numbers, assessor's parcel maps, and a good measuring tool. No other overlays, like zoning or flood. To my knowledge, NH doesn't offer this at the state level yet. At least it can help with assessor discussions when they don't have GIS.

Pretty cool about KW...the desire at the beginning is always to see if the grass might be greener. Sounds like you did the right thing by staying.
