Hi All

Long story short originally licensed back in 2009 when I was in college and only really did RE part time but did fairly well. After school was offered a great job (I thought Iíd love) but didnít.. After 6.5 years I want to get back into real estate.

Should I jump full force now or should I start building my business while collecting a paycheck at my day job for the next 6 months. What I am considering is building my influence through online marketing and so on. The benefit is that Iím keeping a steady income.

What are your thoughts on this strategy

It really depends on how much cash reserves you have. Full time is the best, so your not trying to get clients to always work around your schedule, but that goes away if you can't support yourself for at least 6 months as you grow your business.
As I was typing this I had a new lead call and wants to see a Condo this morning at 11:00. That would have been difficult to pull off with a 9-5 job.

Depends on who's supporting you, cash reserves, who you're supporting. Most Agents I see are housewives that are supported by their husbands - it's essentially a hobby for them.

Makes sense, Cash reserves that could be dedicated to additional expenses are approx 6k, I will have 2k in passive income each month.

In order to make this work now - I would basically need to move in with parents to cut back on monthly expenses as I would be starting out with a slim budget. Waiting the additional time would allow me to save enough to support my self entirely + have more cash reserves.

I guess the question is - is there a benefit to market yourself before getting out there completely or does it really provide no difference.

I started out part time. If i had jumped in full time i probably would of washed out the first year.

Start marketing yourself immediately. If your business takes off you can switch to full time without any effort.

I would start out part time for 6 months or so and invest some money building a buyers data base with FB ads and doing Open Houses on weekends.
