Im glad to find this forum.
Ive been an agent in az for 8 years. Ive been charged with misdemeanor shoplifting and plan to plead guilty in order to receive a deferment program and after 6 months, it will show as a dismissed charge, or not on my record at all.
Im pretty sure disclosing this will result in my license being revoked.
My license is already going to expire soon and Im thinking of just not renewing it in order to not be publicly humiliated.
Is there a way to "relinquish" your license?
For what its worth Im horrified and humiliated about what I did and I am not looking to shirk responsibility, just trying to move forward with the least amount of bruises.Thank you for your responses!

I'm a big fan of disclosing early and often. Nothing is worse than trying to cover up something that has to come out eventually. If it were me, I would call the Real Estate Commission and talk with one of their investigators. You might be surprised that you find a little grace, even there. Let us know how it goes.

I know an agent in Illinois who served time for manslaughter and was still able to be licensed.
