I notice there is a 300 second rule, so five minutes between each post. This is quite a long time? I realise its to counteract spam posts but still.....

Yes t'is true. I always follow on those who complain about this terrible suppression of their thoughts and I'll wait eagerly to read the valuable wisdom that should be forth-coming . . . . but sadly, it does not appear. Not after 300 seconds, 300 minutes . . . . or even 300 days. Probably they just forgot. Our loss.

But it may be one of those situations where someone who's prone to complaining will have to complain just on principle.

In fact I believe that it is longer than 300 seconds in the 'welcome' section of the forum.

Besides as a new member you really should be reading the wisdom contained in the entire thread before posting.

As a newbie i find the rule limiting, but i guess it is for everyone's good.

It does not take me 5 minutes to read a thread that maybe only has 3 or 4 responses! I can see the logic behind having a limit on the number of posts in a set time frame but 5 minutes is a long time.

It's the longest timer I've seen but it's the rules

The 300 second rule makes sure that these forums stay great and informative with limited spam - all good.

Definitely like the time gap. It keeps the forums from becoming giant robot spamfests.

i could not agree more, while i was searching for a good forum about real estate i found a few others and i was really pushed away by some comments i read while briefly scrolling through some threads, the answers were not only less than helpful ut some of them even navigated away from the topic of the thread so i agree this is quite good for all
