Yeah times have changed. I now use a Macbook pro for just about everything. I still have that same desktop computer but no longer use it anymore. Ipad's are nice, but when it comes to saving documents, or getting contracts together they just don't work well for me.

i have been using chromebook now for a couple of years. i have one in the office, one in the home office, both 15" screens and an 11" screen i use around the house. pretty nice, fast, auto syncs everything, powers up fast, usable for multiple users, if you break it, buy another one and use login information and you are up and running as soon as you login (it happened), and they are cheap. best device for me personally and i'm pretty into tech, but like to keep it simple for speed and decrease downtime.

I use my MacBook Pro and iPhone for everything. I like having my laptop with me so I can walk over to one of the other agent's office or to the Brokers if I have a question. I like having my laptop with everything I need with me at home and at the office. The iPad just doesn't cut it for me.

Why debate over a device that's a few hundred dollars. You have your own work space, you set it up, and at the end of the day you have to live with it. Just try it out if you think it will help.

I also have a MacBook and an iPad, although I mostly use my laptop, it's like a security blanket. The iPad is very useful, light, powerful, portable and the battery life is very good so I love it, I love to take notes, send emails, pics, etc. But when I need to get things done quickly and I'm on the go the laptop wins! It's a little bit heavier but I get things done so that's a huge plus for me.

I don't find any reason to buy a laptop. It is absolutely fine to have a desktop and ipad.

Depending on your software systems that you have in place. With PDF Doc signing at your finger tips a bigger screen Tablet (10") would probably work. Although Laptops are definitely easier to type on you can get those add-ons for your Tablet as well... Even a miniature Printer if you need to print something can be added to a tablet for printing.

Laptop is must because it is portable. You can carry easily anywhere you want to go as well as it is easy to use.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
