We all know that Habitat for Humanity has resale shops to sell building materials they are not able to use...items donated that do not meet their needs but may help someone else. However, this bit of information on the Houston Habitat for Humanity web site was a shock to me. The web site says:

"Kitchen Cabinet Removal: For a flat fee, professionally trained staff carefully remove and haul away kitchen cabinetry and appliances, cap electrical wires, and clear away debris leaving the kitchen ready for renovation."

I am sure they have certain standards for this service...if the kitchen cabinets, windows or whatever is coming out are not reusable, I do not know how that would work. I do think it would make me feel better to use them than to use someone off Craigslist just to save a few dollars. Again, don't know the details so read for yourself.

Maybe your seller can use them if they want to fix a few things up before listing the home...or your buyer if they want to upgrade after they move in.

I would be curious how their flat fee and workmanship stack up against others who do this for a living.
