The server has been showing its age over the last couple of weeks and especially over this past night. We have arranged to move to cloud computing which should give us pretty much 100% uptime and an increase in speed etc.

I wonder if this change threw the clocks off by 5 hours ?

For example, I posted Post #422364 at 7:34 AM EDT this morning; but the Site shows it as having been made at 12:34 PM . . . . and this one at 1:05 PM even though it is now only 8:05 AM EDT.

Thanks for pointing that out. I have corrected that so the time stamp on posts will now be in central time. Not sure if it will change the old posts from the past 24 hours without rebuilding the database which would not be worth the inconvenience. This post should be in central time around 7:22 am.

Things are going a lot smoother after the move to the cloud.

There used to be an edit feature available for making alterations within the First 360 Minutes of making a Post.

Has that been intentionally changed ?

The time window seems to have been cut to 60 Minutes.

No, there hasn't been a change but it may be different depending on which forum your post is in. Where is the post you are trying to edit?

We were offline for a while this morning and the reason was due to a software issue with the software that runs the cloud. So, cloud computing is not totally foolproof. Thanks for your patience!

I would love to hear about how the cloud works as opposed to your old server you kept yourself (as I remember)

Which cloud are you on - what did you look for - and I don't really know what other questions to even ask.But I too noticed a speedier Agentsonline - but I also noticed I cannot use IE10 and stay logged in - I have to use chrome at the moment.

We didn't really shop around for different cloud providers. It was more of a matter of the the company which housed our server had expanded to offer cloud computing and we made the change using the same company.

The biggest advantage of cloud computing is no worries about hardware failure. If some piece of hardware fails that server is just dropped from the cloud with seconds of down time instead of hours or days. Resources are handles better as well so not as laggy when busy.

I hadn't heard of any issues with IE10. Perhaps it is just a setting in your browser?
