Posting listings on social media platforms is good and all, but unless you're utilizing the newest, and most engrained methods of posting on the platforms you're not seeing the full benefit.

It will take software as a service to really make this wor, not because it's impossible to write the code for each every website on the web, but because things like Twitter Cards require approval -- and only get approved for companies with a reason to use them, not individuals. What does this mean?

Tweets can only contain 140 characters. Twitter cards on the other hand can contain much more than that, and more! In the above tweet, our twitter account @listingscout tweeted a tweet, that included a link to a listing on the site. Twitter picks this up and automatically creates the Card content.

The same goes for Facebook Open Graph, and LinkedIn Open Graph.

Before you concern yourself with too much Social Media 'advertising' consider your reach, vs that of a software as a service website. Even though its still young, social media is worth investing in, and so is the web.

Is anyone using social media integration from their Software as a Service provider?

Don't have any experience with this - look forward to others input on the subject, though. smile

Little experience in that regard either for social media, but others input should be helpful. smile

Something simple to keep in mind is to always have links to your social media accounts along with like, +1, and follow buttons above the fold. It takes nothing to continually grow your reach by connecting with new followers that you had to do nothing to attract.
