Hey Everyone,

I'm working with a Canadian tech startup that has built a way for realtors to quickly build a custom app for their business that they can share with prospects to promote their listings, drive increased traffic to their content and be a tap away from contact.

We haven't yet launched our realtor solution to the general public yet (we're working on lining up press right now) and I'd love to hear from some of you first so that we can find the best way to pitch it.

Take a look at it at http://www.theappifier.com/realty and feel free to give it a spin or write into me to let me know what you think. Would love to help a few of you get started with our platform and go mobile.

Thanks!
Mike

Always a concern with apps is privacy: what is the developer potentially going to do with that information?

There is a reason that Keller Williams Realty is the only real estate company that is coming out with 80,000 individually branded real estate agents apps for our agents. We understand that our agents are the reason we do business, so they should brand and market themselves and control their own leads. Here is more information on the new KW myMobile app: The New Keller Williams myMobile app

What is the research saying on home buyer use of these types of apps?

I know that most customs apps that are downloaded are either used 1 time or never opened, and I would suspect it is probably a lot higher for real estate apps.

Research / opinions I have read say people do not want apps - they want to be able to use their browser. I would agree.

The last thing I need is more apps on my mobile device. Especially on smart phones as they only have a limited amount of memory to hold these apps in. I am constantly removing seldom used apps because memory shortages interfere with the upgrading of the apps I do use. Every time an app upgrades it seems to grab more precious memory.

Exactly! 25% of the 9,800 people who came to my site this month are using either an ipad or an iphone without any app.

Why be locked in to an app when there are search engines to find what you want?

This is why it is imperative to have a site that looks good on a phone and functions on a phone. CSS all the way.
