I am now a year in the business of real estate. Fact of the matter is, my office is closing or either converting from RE/MAX to something else. The broker is losing money hand over fist and everyone is leaving the office, including the manager I joined the office to be with. He joined another RE/MAX office, but their fees are very high per month, and I just cannot afford to do it there. I have a love for the RE/MAX brand and would really like to remain an agent there, as I believe brand power and believing in what you represent is important.

My options right now are to stay with the RE/MAX brand, but the office would be in another market (Ann Arbor vs Detroit. I live on the western side of the Detroit suburbs, so there is a bit of an overlap) about 30 min from home. There are no RE/MAX offices in my area that don't charge high monthly fees, this is the only one that does not. I was very impressed with the services they offer, a 70/30 split, and one-on-one training and mentoring, along with tons of classes, people on staff who scrub leads for you and hand them to you ready to go, etc.

My other option is to join Coldwell Banker Weir Manuel which is the second largest real estate company in Michigan. I would be devastated to leave the RE/MAX name, but I spent 2 hours with the manager yesterday, and other than the 50/50 split, I am really impressed with the services he offers and again, a one-on-one mentoring approach, marketing division, etc. The upside is it is in my marketplace and closer to home (about half the drive). I have worked with C21, a Realogy brand in the past, and did not like it at all.

I am feeling really unmotivated by real estate lately, and really have not done much of anything in the field the last 4 months or so. I am in a place where if success doesn't start happening wherever I go, I will get out of the business. I am very discouraged, and was actually planning to look for other types of jobs (I have been interviewing places for a few months) and ditch real estate. However, meeting with these brokers yesterday really makes me want to get the passion back that I had last year when I was first licensed.

I definitely have some confidence issues, and I really want to be in a place in my life where I really am a "great" real estate agent. Listing appointments I have gone on have been a huge stress to me, and I would love to becoming more confident. I have definitely called FSBOs and phone prospected in the past. I don't love it, but it is something I became somewhat comfortable with. I like doing social media outreach, and that has worked for me some also.

Do you guys have any advice that you might offer to agents in your own office who are in this place?
