I am currently on the 4 day of 100 days to Greatness by Buffini and I find it's very helpful, informative and teaches a lot.

However, I would like to know if it's worth the time and effort and if anyone here followed it, what their respective results were and if it worked?

Let me know, all the feedback would help and be appreciated!

I found it very helpful and got great results from it. I did not buy the Items of Value from the Buffini Organization or sign up for their mentor program (They will start that pitch around day 89).

It's like any program, you have to work and live it every working day.
I know people that have become very successful because they follow the plan.

I am not following it 100%, however, I am sending out personal notes, asking for referrals and handing out my business card on occasion.

I am going to try to implement it 100% sooner than later and see how it works!

Has anywhere here followed it 100%?

Never 100%. You have to tailor it to fit your situation and goals. There is no one program that fits all. Take a peak at Jennifer Allen's books. I use them in combination with the Buffini program. They are complete opposites, but I take a bit from him, a bit from her.

Guideline: If you are paying someone to tell you to do what you should be doing on your own, you are throwing away your money. When you became an agent, you opened a business. If you opened a business without enough gumption to set up and follow a discplined formula in the first place, no amount of these silly programs is going to make a bit of difference - you will ultimately fail under the weight of your own incompetence.

Don't pay for someone to tell you to succeed. Put the money into your business and succeed on your own.

How does this profession attract so many suckers...

The thing is Navarac, not all of us a powerhouse thinkers like you; some of us need the inspiration and the ideas to get started.

I think of these programs as a springboard and a source of ideas, not a crutch. Very few agents go into the business with a decent background in owning a business in general or specifically in being a successful real estate agent.

We all know that the licensing classes are strictly for the purpose to teaching you how to pass the test, which, apart from the law portion, often has very little to do with the actual business itself.

Would I sign up for ongoing coaching classes? No. Would I take a course like this? Yes I would and I think an agent can walk away with lots of valuable knowledge to run a successful business.

Real estate agents are not born; they are made...with education and inspiration!

I agree with Perky. Take as many of these kind of classes as you can afford. Get a little from each and tailor a style that works for you. There is no industry that has this kind of upward earning potential that doesn't require education that costs time energy and money. The idea that you are born with the knowledge and drive is not realistic.

Investing in knowledge? Good. Investing in stupid feel-good rah-rah hyperbolic "100 days to greatness" goofiness, and personal coaching and motivational gurus, and Tony Robbins stupidity? Not so good.

Navarac, I have listened to the 100 Days to Greatness and also listened to a couple of other inspirational speakers. Yes, there were some genuine nuggets of knowledge there. I really don't recall anything goofy beyond the obvious sales pitch to sign up for personal coaching. Did I agree with everything Buffini teaches? No. I do think he goes overboard with asking for referrals. But there is no one person I agree with 100% but I've gotten great ideas from almost all of them.

My former broker-manager had a library of all the tapes and books from everyone and she encouraged us to check them out. Find a broker like that and save your $$.

When I took the 100 days course my broker had just became a certified trainer of the course. He needed the practice, so he offered the course to us for free. If we wanted the workbook, we could buy it.

My broker has a bunch of that stuff too. That's how I heard most of them. Personally of all of them, I think my favorite guy is David Knox.

I've never read it personally, but I have friends in the business who are big advocates of this book. I'm interested in starting a new email marketing campaign for 2011, so if there is anything in there about how to setup/improve a solid email marketing campaign I would be interested in checking it out.
