Hello.

Are 'bumps' allowed here? I have searched for it in the FAQ but found nothing with regards to the policy.

I see a few do it once in a while but not as frequently as you might see on other forums so I just want to be sure what the policy is.

Thanks in advance

Most forums get enough traffic so that if no one responds to your post it probably means that no one is interested. Bumping isn't going to change that - so bumping has not been an issue to date.

There is no formal rule on bumping but it would be covered under...

"Posting single sentence replies to multiple posts is not allowed and those doing so will have their posts removed and may have their access blocked at the discretion of the moderators and administration. The same applies to short frequent posts made for the obvious reason of promoting the links in the post or signature."

... If you are bumping a post asking an honest question and have not received a reply - I don't think bumping it once would be a problem.

If someone is bumping a post that could in any way be considered promotional though - complaints would come quickly and the bumps would likely be dealt with as outlined above.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
