Mega bump to an almost 10yr old post.

I just bought a Lenovo x220. I have stayed with Lenovo for years. I have tried newer Toshiba, Dell, HP's and Macs. None hold a candle to a sold Thinkpad X or T series for business use. Sony Z series is good but extremely pricey, $1500+.

I really prefer a desktop - but for a laptop I find that HP, Sony and Asus make decent choices.

@Scintillion - definitely agree with both counts. At home, I prefer a desktop w/ multiple screens. (more computing power/speed in a desktop for the same price point as a laptop)

For a laptop, Asus is tops in my book.

You can take apple Mac for better work which provide you fast speed than PC and also provide more security. For any query take Mac OS Support for better information.

So obviously, people are pretty passionate about their brands. Personally, I'm a hybrid PC/Mac guy. IMHO, it comes down to quality and longevity versus price. Traditionally, if you want to buy a car that is cheaper, you may get a Kia. It may last a while, but ultimately pales in comparison to other brands in the way of quality and longevity. If your concern is primarily quality/longevity, you may buy a Honda. In my experience, it's the exact same with the PC/Mac discussion. If your main concern is price, then buy a Dell or HP. You'll keep it for a few years and then it will start to get buggy and more and more prone to virus attack. If you want a computer that you will have absolutely NO issues with, then buy a Mac. It is definitely more expensive, but ultimately will result in almost zero maintenance issues or virus attacks and will probably last twice as long. It's all in what your budget allows! (And also, how passionate you are about your brands already;)

Macs are not impervious to security issues as they once were. Flashback trojan malware is increasing: http://www.zdnet.com/blog/security/over-600000-macs-infected-with-flashback-trojan/11345

If someone told me not to buy a "ho" machine, I would probably run right out and buy one, just to be "defiant." LOL

Hey, is the infamous property in Abbottabad for sale??

Here in New York City most agents and broker use a macbook for a good reason. It's fast, safe and elegant.
