Using your listings in there marketing? Listing your listings on there websites? My office is voting on an interoffice exchange where everyone can market other agents in the offices property as there own.
I have mixed feelings, on one had its more exposure for my listings. On the other hand they are using my listings.

What's the down side? It's FREE extra marketing for your properties- a service to your clients, and it helps newer agents get some buyer calls. It's like letting someone else hold an open house at your listing. I think it's a total win-win situation.

I kinda feel the same way. Just something about letting someone else market my properties bugs me. I think I will vote to let it happen.

Free Advertising? Uh... yes! We do it in our office - just be sure to name the actual listing agent and don't refer to all listings as your own but rather as "Featured Listings" or something along those lines. The more people that see my listings, the better.

We have to give written authority for someone to market each individuals listings on other Brokers (within the office) websites. It helps the new Brokers out. To me it is half of a dozen of one and six of another -

what's in the best interest of your client is generally in your best interest. More exposure for your listings is a good thing.

I don't see the big deal.
This, in fact, has been going on for much longer than agents have had web sites.
If you print out a list of properties that meet the criteria you buyers are looking for, do you also print the contact info for the listing agent on those sheets that you give to the client?
Do you print all YOUR contact information on those sheets? Of course you do.
The bottom line is that everything in the MLS is the "Inventory". Realtors are out there to get the properties in front of the people who are going to buy them.
I don't see this as these folks saying "This is my listing". I see it as them saying, "This house is available, and I can help you get it."

R Couldn't have said it better. We are free to do it under our brokrage, and is encouraged. Quick marketing tip for agents waiting for business to find them: Haven't you guys ever heard the term "BLIND AD"? Find a few listings in your area (can be anyone even outside your brokrage) put an ad in the paper with a few descriptions, and when someone calls asking about the 3 bed 2 bath, just show them those or any 3 bed 2 bath in the area they were looking in, it's a good way to get buyers. I used to do this when I was starting out, and got a couple closed here and there.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
