I am working with a non-profit on fundraising ideas. One of the things we are thinking about is a "Cash Calendar".

For those who don't know what this is: the calendars are nice photo type calendars and numbered with a certain amount given away each day (usually $25.00)

Would you spend $18.00 on a 'cash calendar' for your former customers? If so... how many do you think you would you buy?

I'm still lost even after your description of a "cash calendar". What makes it more expensive than a regular calendar? What is the "certain amount given away each day (usually $25.00)" mean?

I ask them to give me referrals. I give the gift of great service. Nothing more. Never.

A cash calendar is a regular printed calendar like you'd buy in the store... except that anyone who gets one is enrolled in a year-long drawing that gives out $25.00/day. So the owner of a calendar gets 365 chances to win $25.00.

Winners are mailed checks at the end of each month and the results are posted on a website. It provides a good excuse to keep in contact with former customers, which is even better if they win.

The reason I posted this question here is that I wonder if agents would pay $18 each (in bulk) for a gift for their former customers to keep them in their minds all year. It is a fundraiser for a non-profit.

Sounds like a fun and different way to promote your business and keep in touch with clients at teh same time.

Good luck,

I give out the simple monthly planners called The Monthly Monitor from Baldwin Cooke. The are imprinted with Compliments of
My name and company and address and contact information on the bottom of the front cover they are $1.37 for orders of 1000-2499.
I have found that most people will keep those arount and use them. I now give them to business clients. These are advertising/marketing only.

I do not give client gifts at closing. I stopped that almost 2 years before I moved to commercial. Why is it people expect to get a gift from their Realtor? Does your Doctor, Attorney, Financial Planner, Accountant give you gifts after a transaction with them? Then why do Realtors feel obligated to give their clients Gifts? I have never understood where that foolish custom originated.

I like you cash calendar idea if you can afford it...I would do monthly or bi-weekly. How do you pick the numbers? Do you mail new calendars to the clients you get middle of the year?

Thanks for sharing!
