Can you spot the "potential Fair Housing Act violation" in the following ad? (A correct answer is worth 100 brownie points ) WOW... NOW THIS IS LIVING THE GOOD LIFE! The only 5 Star Amenity Condo Community in Ponte Vedra Beach. This 2BR/2Bath condo is an ideal primary or second home. Pamper yourself in luxury. All new appliances, tile, carpet and fireplace. Hop, Skip & Jump to the Beach Today - Or better yet... let the staff pick you up in a mini-hummer golf cart and taxi you to the beach, set up your chairs and umbrella and, "Hey, can I get you a drink?" Ahhh yes - It's the good life, indeed.

Just for grins my first guess would be: "Hop, Skip & Jump" could be construed as discrimatory to the disabled.
Long shot guess: "can I get you a drink?" " unfair to alcoholics.
"LIVING THE GOOD LIFE" might be a problem too with the policitcally correct since everyone on earth does not live the "good life". :p

Jim, It's humorous... all the PC stuff we have to worry about. By the way, I don't know the answer myself so I'm wondering if anyone here can pick it out. I came up with the same kind of stuff you did. (????)

I agree with Jim Lee - it's the "hop, skip and jump" reference. There are so many terms that are borderline such as "master" bedroom, "room with a view" and so on, that can get us in trouble. I am very careful with my wording which can make for some boring ads.

Nope... apparently we can hop, skip and jump all we want. Here, side by side (or top and bottom) are the ads... first as potential violation and the second as acceptable.

Hop, Skip & Jump to the Beach Today - Or better yet... ..., let the staff pick you up in a mini-hummer golf cart and taxi you to the beach. That would have been the more correct way, otherwise I didn’t see a problem. "Hey, can I get you a drink?" Nothing wrong with this statement. Alcoholics obviously will think of alcohol.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
