Hey fellow Realtors! I was browsing google when I came across this site about how to approach FSBOs! http://www.ncrealtors.org/searchpubs/THR/2002/thr-0302/fsbo.htm Check that out! I have yet to try what it says to do, but soon enough I will! Something I'm doing now, is emailing FSBOs. You can find them at www.owners.com Thats the site I'm using now. It gives you the owners name, well most of them, addresses, and phone numbers! The address is a big one! You can't find out there email address, but you email them through the site. So far I've emailed 35 since monday, and tomorrow I'll be sending out much much more! No one has yet to reply to me, and if they don't reply, I'm still going to email them everyweek with information to help them sell there house. I'm hoping that I'll get a listing or two this month from this site! Wish me luck and good luck to everyone else!! If anyone else has any other tips with FSBOs or other good FSBO sites let us know thanks!

Funny that, but i just started using owners.com to find FSBO's and mailed them all a pack. I now plan to mail out a postcard each week until they give in :p
BTW guys, 87% of FSBO's end up using a Realtor.

Any of you have links for the good newspaper articles to give to FSBO's or foreclosures?
How about knocking expireds?

I don't know about newspaper articles but I found: http://www.fsboamerica.org/FSBO-Articles.cfm Also, if you go to www.owners.com and go to resources, there are a bunch of articles there. If anyone finds real newspaper articles please post. Thanks! I've never tried expireds, but I personally think FSBOs would be easier because expireds already used real estate agents and they may not have as much confidence in us, but from what I hear they usually relist with another agent. Only one way to find out if they work for you....and thats: Just Do It!

UH Oh, I did see one with a MLS number, so I didn't email them, but all the others I just emailed away hahaha. I guess I have to start looking in the MLS to make sure :-( The properties with no info at all, but still has price and address, I just leave alone for now, will go back and maybe stop by and see if its still FSBO. Thanks Houston Agent!!

Something I'm doing now, is emailing FSBOs. You might try making personal contact early on to add effectiveness to your e mail avalanche. Either a phone call, if they're not on the "do not call" list or a visit will go a long way toward getting you that listing. Most Realtors don't have the courage or make the time to make that initial personal contact; if you do that will put you way ahead of the pack of other Realtors doing the same thing you are. Also offer them some help to set yourself apart as a 'nice guy' and that will set you further apart.

Or maybe just include a disclaimer saying if you are already under contract with another agent then please disregard this mailing. Originally posted by Houston Agent: Some of these properties are already listed with other brokers, so you need to be really careful and do your research before sending them anything.
A quick search through my area, looking at the ones listed as owner.com, brought up three with MLS numbers. Entering those numbers into my MLS shows that they have exclusive right to sell contracts with other brokers. One was already pending.
It's highly possibly that some of these people may not have put their MLS numbers in their owner.com listing. To be careful you'd have to enter every address to make sure that they aren't listed with a broker.
One step quicker than looking at the newspaper, but still some necessary steps need to be taken before you just start firing off packets to these people.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
