What it takes to earn a "top producer" award depends on who is giving it -- if it comes from your real estate company, it may mean you've closed 30 or more "sides" in a calendar year. If it's coming from your local board of Realtors, you may be a top producer if you've sold more than $10 million in real estate and to be a state board top producer, you may have earned more than $500,000 in gross commissions...it can vary greatly. Ask your broker about the "award" levels for your company, and check out your board of Realtors web site for their requirements.
