Today there has been an incidence of someone signing up for the board and then using the Private Message Feature to send solicitations to some members. This person has since been banned.

There will be a zero tolerance policy regarding spamming members through Private Messages. If someone does it to you let me know and forward the message to me. I will take care of it

Just opened the message from him before I signed on. Thank you for banning solicitations.

I got a personal email by support@agentsearch.us. Didn't ask about their products or want it. Said they saw me on this board.

Just clarified in the Forum Rules - "Members that use their access to harvest email addresses for the purposes of sending spam will have their access to this board blocked and their previous forum posts may be deleted."

Sending an email to just one person would not constitute harvesting email addresses but if emails were sent to a bunch of different people....

This forum is seen as a safehaven from solicitations and it would be ashamed for us to start being attacked with advertisements via personal email.

I have been receiving a lot of spam mail lately from mortgage people and especially the Florida investment people. I don't know if anybody else is having this problem, but I feel it is coming from here. I have deleted them, but will forward them to you next time.

This thread is about spam received thru the "Private Message" feature of these forums. If you are receivening spam by email (not from a Private Message) and are concerned that someone may have picked up your email address here - you can hide your email address in your profile. Just choose the appropriate radio button when editing your profile
