Strange but true! I don't know what is happening but if you are a member and are showing as "unregistered" - the problem seems to fix itself once you login.

The problem will be fixed for good in a few days as I will be changing the forum software - I have been holding off waiting for the newest release so I don't have to upgrade twice within a short time period.

I was logged in and it still showed me and other members as unregistered. Members that have been here longer were not affected by this -- just members that have joined within the past 30 days or so.

There's probably a php code error somewhere around where it gets currdate from mysql. It's probably very simple to fix and wouldn't require you to change software.

On my computers you are showing as registered - in fact everyone is showing as registered now. Since the "unregistered" issue seems to depend on which computer is viewing the site I am inclined to think it may be a cookie issue of some sort.

These forums do not actually use php and mysql - it is actually "spoofed" using cgi. The new version does use php and mysql - eta is sometime late next week for the upgrade.

hmm ... I'm showing as "registered" now from my PC, too. A cookie issue wouldn't cause this because even yesterday it listed the amount of registered users as "1" up at the very top of these forums.

If it's written in Perl there's probably a minor code error in an included function call.

I know Perl and PHP/MySQL very well. If you ever have any questions and don't know who to ask, feel free to ask me if you need to know something about it.

I don't know if there are any other programmers here or not? \:\)

Thanks for your offer. I think I will just monitor the situation for the next several days as the change to the new system will render any "repairs" unnecessary and the data is all here - once you are logged in anyw2ay \:\)
