First Locked Out – Then Deleted !!
I recognize the moderators prerogative to censor posts, however, in my limited experience the moderators of forums typically have a level of expertise about the subject matter which allows them to shepherd the threads through subtle direction. When necessary contributing at a higher level so as to earn the respect of the participants.
I guess I was mistaken
I’ll try to make my posts more relevant ..
The sad part is- in my opinion – success in real estate comes from listening, not talking. There are some good lessons to be learned on this board.

From my experience on this forum, it seems to me that it's ok to disagree with each other...but, GOD FORBID if we disagree with a bad moderator..then it instantly becomes harassment of the bad moderator...which eventually leads to a huge heated argument and deletions of posts.
There's good and bad moderators in here ..the good ones seem to be really good at it.

Wouldn't it be nice to rid the forum of the poor moderators?

Quite frequently the 1% posts that get delete or edited are vital to the whole thread. If I may suggest a discussion board with predetermined set of criteria or filters. A moderator's judgement is not good enough. We are a nation of law and order, we don't let the police make their own laws. Let's adapt this to business shall we?

I am not sure all of what went on in the past week or so but last night I deleted a post in the Buyers Forum (at the request of the person that started the thread) that seemed to be a continuation of a closed thread in the Agents and Brokers Forum. That may have been me that then deleted the closed thread from the Agents and Brokers Forum as well - if it was the one that was semed to be a gripe-fest that bore little resemblace to a discussion about real estate with every second post having been edited - that would have been me I can tell you that when I have to go thru a thread with dozens of posts - most of them inappropriate for the forum they are in - I don't have time to edit the darn thing to make it acceptable. I will take the easy route and delete it. Campion, your statement about "not wanting to get into an intellectual battle" that you refer to above should have been deleted - and not because someone is trying to stifle intelligent discussion. As per the Forum Rules - It is OK to call a person's ideas stupid but when you call a person stupid you have entered the realm of personal attacks - which has nothing to do with discussing anything. If the thread that was deleted was actually about a subject that was appropriate for the Agents and Brokers Forum and contained some valuable information related to real estate - then by all means start it again.

Since I have priginally joined this sight, I have been willing to offer my 30 years experience in this business, and offer it freely.
I also feel at times that one needs to strike at the inner core of an individual, to make them think, contemplate, soul search, and do some kind of action to get out of their comfort zone. Real estate people are usually "A"Type personalities, and those are the ones who generally succeeed. Not necessarily the huggie, lets not offend anybody, politically correct, don't want to hurt anybody's feeling individual. As the old adage goes "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen". Sometimes truth hurts.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but have any of the good moderators here ever "First Locked Out – Then Deleted !! " whole topics?
BTW, I agree with The "Quote of The Week".

Why was the thread aboput a website for sale started by OCCastles just deleted?
He doesnt like a response, so he asks that the thread is deleted and you do it? This is bush league.

He wanted it deleted because of the discussion about the website. There was no need to delete it. He doesnt have the right to ask for my post or that of any other person to be deleted.

I dont delete the mls listing. The property is simply marked as "Sold".

Once someone responds to a post, the author should not have the right to have the thread deleted just because he doesnt like the response. OCCastles was offering a site for sale and brought up the perception of value and search engines. The discussion of the value of that site was fair game at that point, and the discussion itself had value, as the website had keyword stuffed text and pages like this - http://www.cape-cod-homes-for-sale.com/cape_cod_homes_for_sale/ Using this forum to sell something is fine I guess, but censoring the discussion is a disservice to the members. And if the person who bought this site did so as a result of the solicitaion on this forum (and it is important to note that the domain was not included) was made aware of the SE problems inherent in the site, perhaps they would rethink their decision. By deleting that thread, you were used by OCCastles to squelch any further discussion.
