There are many resources on the Internet for asking questions of home inspectors or about home inspections. Two of the best that I've found are:

http://www.nachi.org.

Those are two of the most active bulletin boards on the Internet, and a question at either one can have dozens of answers and a very lively discussion within minutes of asking the question.

Additionally, I believe most state trade associations (like CREIA in California; http://www.creia.org) and some other national trade associations (like ASHI; http://www.ashi.com) have some bulletin boards, but I'm not sure how much is open to the public for asking questions, posting, etc.
