I ran across some software that an agent in Arizona is using called LinkMachine at LinkMachine-DOT-com

He said it was good although took some time to get started.

My questions to the group are:

Does anyone else use LinkMachine? Like or dislike?

Is there a better product/software out there for managing link exchange?

I use it... like it.. easy to use, to implement in your design... but requires that you follow on what is added automatically..

my 2 cents

and for the price... not expensive..

Hey rms7design,
I'm taking a shot at it. What is the website(s)that you are using it on?

The agent I mentioned in the first post is Steve Coker at www.yourscottsdaleazhome.com . Very cool guy, when I was visiting 2 weeks ago in Scottsdale he took over an hour to go over it with me.

Thanks for the posts and I hope to have more.
The first site I am trying this on is www.garykentteam.com

Reciprocal linking as a search engine tool is dead as far as Google is concerned, and the others usually follow.

In the Google Jagger update, my real estate site disappeared after enjoying top four placement for two years in best keyword real estate strings. I had at that point accumulated 300+ reciprocal links. They cleaned my clock. I removed the reciprocal linking pages from the site, and after almost nine months, I'm back to positions in the 20's.

Concentrate on good relevant content and trying to build a readership that will grace you with one-way links into your site. Also have one-way links out to relevant content.

Don't take my word for it....read these articles.

Good articles Jim, thanks for sharing. I agree that content is critical and we are activily adding it to our sites.

While reciprocal linking (as we have known it) may be dying, I think it still should be part of the SEO mix.

Your comments and the articles are right, that the mindless linking to non-related industries or the link-farm approach will work against me.

Frankly, I'm still playing catch-up with our SEO, for the past 6 years we have depended on (and still do) Google AdWords and Yahoo's Overture for PPC. We still like the results we just want to increase our organic results.

I'm just looking for a way to manage the link process better. Steve Coker's site has a good page rank. He has lots of links and YES lots of content \:\)

Thanks,
Kevin

Kevin:

I'm still trying to decide how to deal with reciprocal linking. I have not put any back on my sites. If the climb continues in Google, I'll probably just leave well enough alone.

SEO is a moving target. Good luck.

Reciprocal linking won't "hurt" you... the search engines are just learning to ignore it. You need a good balance... reciprocal, one-ways, 3-ways, articles... don't load up heavy on any single tactic. (and of course don't forget GOOD unique content!)

I started a site a few weeks ago where you can post articles (pages) with links to your website for self promotion purposes. As the site gets indexed and page ranked, these pages will score well for your website and long as you build your page with SEO in mind. Since you can control the META tags and the content (even HTML code), your pages will do well.

And the site is free.

Google Custom Forum Search

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
