I feel alittle foolish since I have been in real estate for 25 years, but have a new web site and wish to start linking reciprocal sites with mine ALTHOUGH I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO LINK.

Can anyone assist or direct me to where I can find any specific instrustions on how to link or what I am suppost to do so not to offend anyone because of my lack of knowledge?

First thing you need to do is create a page for the links from your homepage named resources or anything else but links and get your site indexed by the search engines so your link will have some value to those you wish to exchange links with. When you get done with that we'll move on to step 2. There's lots of great people here that will be happy to trade links with you. Welcome to the 21st. century

Once your "links" page is completed, then as you search and/or browse the web and come upon a website that you like, you can request to trade links with that site... Some will accept & exchange links, some will not... That is a hit or miss type of thing... Please don't get frustrated in the beginning as it takes time to build up... Now one thing that you might want to know is that doing links with busier and/or more established sites will increase the traffic to your site dramatically... This will also help you in your business...

hmmm...I took the question more literally...as in "How do I set up a link?"

with all the wysiwyg html editors out there chances are it isn't the question...but just in case:

You use what is know as anchor tags
The text for your link

The above is supposed to show tags...if it shows up as an actual link I guess I answered in vain, except to say go to toolbar -> view -> Source and try to see how the code is set up.

Hi Pinoybroker,

Google has recently changed some of their rules around links...

Traditionally, the more links to you the better - and the more links to and from high PR sites the better...

However, in an effort to guide users to sites and information relavent to their search terms - google is attempting to classify links according to relavence to content... Therefore linking with sites that share similar content to your site, as well as good PR's will assist your site more the non-related links - which, under the "new" system will actually decrease your ranking (at least in theory).
