This week, I attended one of the seminar offered at the 'Realtor Conference and Expo' in San Francisco. It was about 'Tax strategies for real estate'. It talked about how to save taxes when investing on real estate as a real estate professional. Basically one of them is to incorporate (versus investing as a sole proprietorship).

Now I am in the process of transitioning to a new real estate company this, and I have two questions:
1. when signing a contract (as an independent contractor) with the broker/company, have anyone tried createing a corporation, and make it between 'broker/company' and 'you/your corporation'?
2. If the answer is yes, is it a better option in your experience?

Yes, just makes for a better tax xituation. Her in CO most agents are best off with an LLC taxed as an S corp. Don't do a C Corp for just yourslef. If you can't do an LLC and decide to incorporate then just do an S Corp. If you aren't familiar with the tax advantages you will be when you file next year- self-employment taxes- OUCH!
