Hired as an "Independent Contractor" (prop mngr) and quit after a week. 12 dys and no check in mail. Never signed any agreement, but in reality was a salaried employee....I know, I know. How many dys till they must legally postmark check, if they intend to pay at all!!! Messy situation. Who do I contact to find out in nj. Thanks.

How about asking the person that hired you.

Ask the person who hired you and if that person doesn't return your calls or give you an answer ask to speak with the Broker. If all else fails, call the Labor board.
