Has any agents noticed any change in the market recently. All of a sudden appraisers are catching up and Realtors in my office had a decline in business suddenly. There is definitely a change this year but things should pick up next year as the market softens more and more.

Every single year that I have been in the business(15), the market slows second week of September, picks back up second week of October, slows November and December, then booms Jan 1. It has been consistant in my business every year.

It has been unusually quiet in my office lately. Our hot market has slowed, and according to inventory stats there are three times as many listings as there were in January.

The California market has been on fire for three years and it is definitely losing steam. The market is a little slower because of the season but it is the first year it has softened. Next year appreciation in my area is predicted to be 18% while in other areas of California 6-10%. Inventory is building rapidly for the first time as well. We had 5 reductions in price at our meeting today.
