I am thinking of Investing in another state they have a very good ski area & good also in summer. I spoke to a management company & got some info from them, where else can I get info from? My DH & I really like it there, so we will also spend some time. They seem to rent well but I want to make sure. Should I go by what the management company says. Is there a report they can give me to actually see the numbers?
Here's some ideas: 1.if its currently rented you can ask for a copy of the lease agreeement. 2. You should check the local newspaper and see what other similar units are renting for. 3. Get an local RE agent to help you out. 4. Finally, you can have an appraiser do a rent study for you for a couple hundred bucks.

Zpcsc, If I was thinking of investing in an area that I have no knowledge of, I`d take the time and fly or drive out there and learn first hand what`s really happeningin that region. When you invest in RE, you need to look at all opinions and than naturally make your own, that means "Looking under the hood, or kicking the tires", per se! I wouldn`t listen solely to what the management company tells me. Good Luck...
Thanks for your info. We have stayed in that area several times, once we see a unit we are interested in we will go out again & check it out. We need to visit in the summer, since we have only been there during the winter. As you mentioned, I will get a local agent to help me out and I will try to get local newpapers. I just want to make sure the rental will cover all the expenses. By the way, the area is in Jackson Hole Wyoming. Thanks.
Yeah you def need to get to the area and check it out in person but also having someone local you can trust is a big plus too. I envy you , i would love to have a place in Jackson Hole, god luck and i hope it works out!!!!
Yes, Jackson Hole is a beautiful & peaceful place. We have traveled there several times & love it. I am an agent in Florida & I am trying to get info from my relocation dept as to who they can refer me to in JAC. I hope to find someone who I like to work with to really give me the info I need. Thanks.
This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
