I just listed my condo which is tenant occupied. She is under government housing section8, she is stating that she is looking but has not found anything yet. She is asking that we give her the deposit back to complete the cash for her deposit & other money landlords are asking for. She has been a good tenant & the condo is in perfect shape. Should I give it to her already? She says she has until late next month to move as per section8.

You must be new at being a landlord, terms and dispersion of security deposit and other monies being held by you should be clearly defined in your lease agreement.Ask your agent and have them look over your lease agreement to help you out.

Never Never never give security or damage deposits back until the tenant vacates the property and you have inspected it.
NOTE: Florida does have a set time frame in which you must return the deposit or notify the tenant that cost will be deducted in accordance with the lease agreement. Your Property Management company will be able to advise you.
This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
