If anyone can provide me with any good websites of Companies that provide educational tools, classes, software to help first time real estate investors to begin to build a portfolio? Any tips would be appreciated.

A good site would be www.thecreativeinvestor.com. Lots of information on different aspects of investing.

One of the best sites I have found that can help you get started is www.creonline.com. They have a wealth of free information in their articles, and on their forums.

Once you are ready to jump in... but need some day to day suggestions you may want to check out the forum at www.dealmakerscafe.com They also have a "store" with many investor products and good discussions on what products have and are working for real estate investors. BUT, be thick skinned enough to take a few jabs at real estate agents as many of the really active members do not have high regards for us but again, many are both agents and investors.

The major problem they have with the average agent is that they are average and although working full time in real estate.... never actually invest in it!!! They DO have a point... a sharp one they jab with!!

There are a series of free articles on realdata.com They also have a book - about $12, which I recently read and found it to be a clear presentation of essential cash flow and investment concepts

Great to see the participation from everybody... Some great sites have been listed thus far... There are a couple of other ones that will benefit you or anyone else that you know of a great deal... This website is a great help with different aspects as well... Feel free to ask questions, REMEMBER there is no dumb question!!!

Now you also might want to look into Yahoo Groups... There are several very good ones that have some decent information and a great networking system... OF course always be aware that there are unscrupolous people out there, so be careful and have a great time in your investing career...
