Azerbaijan has been famous for its oil springs and natural gas sources since ancient times. By the beginning of the twentieth century Azerbaijan was supplying almost half the world’s oil, but under investment in Soviet times led the industry into decline.

Those projects, mentioned above have strongest real potential to make Baku even more attractive than capitals of free economy zones –on the Caspian Sea.
