#65792 - 08/01/04 02:27 PM Quit Claim Deed? Help

I recently bought a house by a ski resort and plan to rent it out as a vacation rental. I created an LLC and plan to transfer the deed/ownership of the house to the LLC to limit liability. I was told that I could use a quit claim deed to make this transfer.

Can anybody verify this for me? How do I transfer/deed my house from my name to a LLC?

Thank you in advance.

You need to contact a Real Estate attornie in the state in which the property and the LLC are located. Many states handle these things differently.

In general a Quit Claim deed is a poor form of transfer for most real estate activities, they are OK to give out but don't ever accept one under normal circumstances is a good rule to follow.

Nabber...

Reality has hit it on the head... Please consult a Real Estate Attorney in your home state... No matter what advice we give you won't be as good as the advice from a competent local attorney... Additionally, the little bit of money for the time is a heck of alot better than maybe losing a deal or worse a home...
