Over the years Yahoo has been waging war on template sites and once a template provider becomes large enough Yahoo usually become annoyed and all of their sites drop to obscurity.

In the past this has been because template sites cross link (often without the agents' knowledge) which raised the ranks in Yahoo until they dominated searches. People complain and all the sites then vanish.

It is my imagination or have Point2 sites and Advanced Access sites (I don't think AA cross links - at least they didn't use to) now pretty much disappeared from Yahoo's search results for competitive keywords?

Do you know of any that are still ranking well?

Hi Doug,
I haven't had time to check extensively but I did just check a few very competitive terms that had bot AA and P2A sites at the top and they're gone I guess we'll be hearing from some site owners in this thread if it's true on a large scale.

On Yahoo, the AA sites that were "above" me are gone... which has really improved my rankings! \:\) for me... \:\( for them.

As far as I know, AA sites only cross linked if you purchased their promotion package... Any AA people here?

Oh no, it looks like Yahoo changed their minds or atleast got their act together.

Because of this thread I decided to check my rankings and to my suprise, I'm ranking 1st page for almost all keywords. I was buried about 5-6 pages deep.

Anyways, I'm not really excited because even when I did rank well in Yahoo it didn't bring me any business.

Thanks Matt,

It is good to know that the disappearance doesn't affect all sites - they must be looking at something in particular in the sites that have disappeared. Or, they could just come back in a month or two - Yahoo is like that \:\)

My Point 2 site, that ranks very well in Google basically dropped off the face of Yahoo late last year. It is *slowly* coming back. Very slowly...

Google Custom Forum Search

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
