Is anyone familiar with the XSite product by a la mode?

I have traded links with a number of them but when my software tries to check the page (usually the main entry page) for my link it is unable to check. This happens with a couple of different link checking programs so I beleive it is an issue with their system and not with my software (which does not have this problem with other sites).

This makes me wonder if search engines have the same problem - am I getting and value from the link?

Has anyone else noticed this? Does anyone know why this is? Does anyone have any proof that a link on an XSite is counted?

I've had the same issue as you... When I add someones link to my website, my software crawls the page immediatly and reports if it found my link. Many sites (a lot of xSites) give me a not found even though I can see it using my browser. I report this to the webmaster and let them know until this issue is fixed, I can't swap links with them. (my software kills their link if my link is not found)

I do know you can .htaccess disallow sites from calling your pages. Maybe xSites has a disallow.
