Hardly a day goes by anymore without my receiving a solicitation to list in a new real estate directory. It seems that there is a new real estate directory almost every day - I received two this morning already.

What is up with that? Why all the Johnnie-come-latelys? It seems that they are just set up so the owners have a venue to make money from Google ads.

As as one that has had a directory for many years I can say that directories just do not get traffic that is signifigant enough to make any kind of money from PPC advertisers - especially if no one can find it in the first place. The only revenue Adwords will generate would be chump change I would think. Am I missing something here?

When you receive a solicitation from a directory do you...
A) Add the sender to your spam list?
B) Ignore it?
C) Consider it an opportunity and do what ever it takes to get your site listed there?
