Wow, am I glad I found this forum, it's been a great help. I'm a Utah Realtor, and have quite a few Utah real estate domain names. But, I have two I use and would like to narrow it down to one, but I would like some feedback. The two I use are: UtahHomeSeller.com and UtahHomeSales.com I currently market UtahHomeSeller.com but am wondering if marketing UtahHomeSales would be easier to recall, or would be a better domain to market? Any thoughts on which one would be better to use my marketing budget for. Also, has anybody figured out how to convert hits to inquires from sellers or buyers? I get lots of unique hits on the site, but have only converted a small minority of them to clients. Many potential clients hit the site, spend time browsing - but never contact me. I'd like to figure out how to put a "call to action" or something to capture these potential clients. Any unique marketing ideas out there? Thanks very much for any input. Hi Rick, what struck me right away on your site is that there is no phone number on top and no link to a "contact us" or "search for homes" section that stands out. When I click on http://www.utahhomeseller.com/buying.htm I have to scroll down and look at the bottom left hand site to see a contact number. I would have your phone number on top of every page as well as right underneath the text. Your site looks great but I think potential buyers can get lost and start shopping around instead of contacting you which they are more likely to do when the info is right there. About your domains: I prefer UtahHomeSales.com but that's just me. Mike

If it were me I would concentrate more on utahhomesales.com- it rolls off the tongue better and is a more inviting name as it implies that a visitor is going to see homes for sale - which is what both buyers and sellers want to see. utahhomeseller implies a visitor is going to see a Realtor - and they really could care less about that As for your hits - are you sure you are getting lots of hits? That is a word that is misused a lot. A "hit" is actually a call to the server as it loads any element on your page - so just loading one page on your site can generate 25 hits - more if you have lots of elements on a page. Where are your hits coming from? That can also determine whether they contact you.

Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate that! The "hits" are unique visitors, they are mainly coming from keywords I purchase on Yahoo and Google. (utah real estate, salt lake realtor, utah realtor etc).

I've made some changes to the site, and would appreciate some feedback based on the changes you suggested. I'll probably go with utahhomesales, but for now it's still on http://www.utahhomeseller.com Thanks again for any feedback. (good, bad or otherwise ) Rick Burton

Thanks Americasdoorstep. It's a template I purchased, then refined it myself somewhat. Much easier that way. I'm better at marketing (I hope) than design. Thanks again for the feedback, I'm really trying to get this right and appreciate any input from anybody. Take care Rick Burton www.UtahHomeSales.com

Rick, You need to change your title to a few of your most important keywords. No one is going to go to Google, Yahoo, MSN ect...and search for "UtahHomeSales.com". Change it to something like you said in an earlier post "utah real estate, salt lake realtor, utah realtor etc". This way you can stop paying for hits and let people find your site for free. I like the layout and clean look of your site.

I would also suggest going with UtahHomeSales.com. As MatttyMatt mentioned search engines can be very valuable tools for free if you are able to show up in "organic" or natural searches rather than pay per click etc. Now with that in mind I would say that "home sales" is probably much more searched for than "home seller". The fact that you have "home sales" in your domain automatically means that anyone who links to you will have those key words in their link to you. Just my two cents and hopefully I didnt delve too much into search stuff.
