I have an email address that has been getting a lot of bounced messages lately from people I have not sent emails to. I have my own pop domain name and use yahoo to check it online.
I'm wondering if someone is using my address to send spam or what these messages are.

Have you virus scanned lately? You may have aquired a resident worm that is mailing spoofed addresses out of your location.

It does not have to be a virus on your own computer. The way spam and viruses work nowadays - it just means that your email address was picked up out of someone elses mailbox or from an online location and used as the "sender".
It makes you look bad to those who don't understand how it works but there is nothing you can do about it. We are all in the same boat I am sorry to say.

That's too bad. I heard about that. It's from an address that I didn't think was published. It's also spamming my entire office, so that seems like it's a horrible thing.

We had the same problem. We ordered a second server and pointed the MX record for those email accounts at the new server. It has worked so far, but the spammers will eventually catch up again.

That sounds like it could be an option. Maybe I can call my webmaster to see what we can do.

Keller said they found a virus in our systems that grabbed emails from our address books and then used our own email address to spam friends.
Not sure if this is the issue, but I haven't had trouble since they found it.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
