Hi...
I am a web developer who is looking into designing sites for real estate agents. I have been reading about the IDX system that is being offered - quite powerful. Anyone have an idea of where I can pursue such a system? I would like to implement the IDX system in my website. Please let me know. THANKS!!!! TAKE CARE...

I just posted a similar question in Net Success. My MLS claims to not support IDX yet there are agents locally using the system on their websites. CMLSCurrently I just link back to my broker's site potentially losing people. Thanks! Ridgefield CT Real Estate------------------ Rick Bucich www.bucich.net Ridgefield CT

michothinks - yeah the whole IDX thing is pretty cool, it gives agents and broker some great tools to actually integrate MLS listings on their website. Hopefully we can finally get away from the endless frames and mismatched navigation in this industry! As mentioned ealier in this thread getting an IDX feed setup for your client depends on the specific MLS and your particular rules and regulations. Let me know which MLS and Realtor Association your client is a member of and I can probably help out. We work with designers and developers all the time setting up a custom IDX feed, so let me know if I can help! Good luck!!! _________________ Chad Barczak www.idxbroker.com

Here is what Canadian Real Estate Association has posted on their site: Links & Frames All links to any CREA website must be accompanied by a prominent notice which makes it clear to a browser that the link leads to a website of The Canadian Real Estate Association.
This notice may make reference to the domain name itself (e.g. mls.ca) or may refer to CREA. No materials, names or marks may be used with the link to give the erroneous impression to a user that the individual, entity or website is somehow affiliated with CREA or any of CREA's web sites; Unless CREA expressly agrees otherwise, all links to any CREA website must connect to the home page of the website; All links must be displayed in text, or by using the graphic buttons provided by CREA. No technology may be used to display the content of CREA's web sites in a frame or in any other manner that is different from how it would appear if a user typed the URL into the browser line. The link must result in a new, fully functional, full screen browser window occupied solely by the pages created by the CREA website. Back to menu Pretty brutal. Has anyone been able to get special permissions for this? ------------------ Real Estate Website Content | Black Diamond Real Estate | Turner Valley Real Estate | Real Estate Website Developers

Websitebiztips - yeah that's typical of what most MLS's require in terms of the legal text. In fact, that's not as bad as others we currently work with. In most cases the rules and regs are dozens of pages long and many require specific logos to be used on specific listings, down to the exact pixel size. The best approach if just doing one or two real estate sites is to use a third party that specializes in IDX feeds, since the scripts are already written and the headache is definitely not worth it if your setting it up for the first time. The most frustrating part in setting up any new IDX/MLS feed is trying to interpret the individual rules and regulations, not to mention how they map the data once you get it… that’s a whole other issue! Out of 1500+ Realtor associations, there are just about that many “standards” _________________ Chad www.idxbroker.com

The rules and regulations can be a major pain when trying to set up a IDX feed. For the most part in some states it requires that not only you the webmaster but the real estate agent and broker all sign for the data. Some brokers are not willing to take that risk. ------------------ The Best Real Estate Agents in Las Vegas and Atlanta in the Las Vegas Real Estate Market Atlanta Real Estate Market offering Las Vegas Homes for sale and Atlanta Homes
