I recieved a refund from 10-X for their MLS IDX. It was a great idea but they wouldn't or could'nt keep the site updated or fix the slowness. I had to argue for 4 months and went through everyone in the organization. Finally I took it off my site because I was violating our MLS rules. I don't really know what worked in geting my money back but I think that reporting them to the National Association of Realtors may have done the trick. I was shocked to get the phone call that I would be refunded my money. The sad thing is, is that they have a good concept but they do not have the wherewith-all to pull it off. It was the integrated google earth with MLS search.

Thanks for the encouragement Jax. Boy they have a horrible reputation. Wish I would have known when I signed up for their scam. It was a site promo type program guaranteed results..... Had a bad feeling but gave it a go anyway. Should always listen to those instincts.

Anyway thanks. Glad to hear you got your money back. Let's spread the word so no one else gets taken by them.

Wanted to bring this topic back up top. I am receiving tons of emails from people who have been taken by 10x media. (I am included. $1600)
Just want to make sure we get the word out. DO NOT give these people your money!!!!!!!!!!!

I found your comments in the thread on 10xmedia. Unfortunatly I'm 2 months too late . They took me for $1447 on 5/19/06. I'll be filing a complaint from your link posted. A class action lawsuit; I like the sound of that! Count me in. I don't know how to forward these comments into the realtor disscussion. Maybe you could help on that. Thanks much,

Go figure, they talked me into a 1 year extension after 6 months stating I would receive a new start date and gurantee after the first 6 months. Now, none of their phone numbers work, none of their emails work, nor does the fax work. Scam? (Paid $4500)

Yeah, I am getting more emails from people saying they are out of business. They took our money and ran....

There are legit and not-so legit SEO companies out there. I guess this is as any industry, but because most people have no clue what SEO actually involves it is easy to get ripped off. Reading many of the posts from experiences, I would stay away from them. When selecting an SEO company, get a good understanding of what they're going to offer.
For example, we offer monthly status and progress reports to keep the relationship in good standings. Also try to avoid "black hat" SEO methods (those that try to trick the search engines). Google and MSN are constantly tweaking their algorithms to punish people to use these bad techniques.

Depends on the keywords.
If the keywords are rarely used you don't even need SEO.

IMO to be and stay on top for the most searched ones is quite demanding task.
