I was contacted recently by this company http://www.10xmedia.com/ and they wanted to sell me their web presence program that guarantees top placement in the Search engines via a website they set up for up 3 agents in a given area. The sites are content rich with articles which they submit to the engines I think? Bottom line is they want $3500 for the year and say it will take 6-8 weeks to show results.

Is anyone using it? Opinions?

Well let's see... ;\) First red flag...the "guarantee results"... anyone worth anything in the seo world will tell you this is impossible unless your working with a blank check and never ending time frame \:D

2nd. red flag...their own site shows 5 backlinks...3 of which are internal...yikes...I could go on and on but I think it's nuff said on this one.

On a positive note...(for them that is)... very clean site with good sales copy.... should catch alot of Realtors ;\)

simple question to ask of them; what search phrase should you use to find their site in top placement?

try it, what comes up? Next ask yourself, how relevant is this search phrase in regards to the service they offer?

'top placement' is pretty subjective at best.

The bottom line is ‘relevant content’, and lots of it, on your site that makes the Spiders Crawlers and Indexers get all tingly and happy. There’s no easy way. You have to add it yourself or PAY someone and YOU have to tell ‘that someone’ what to say and they need to be savvy enough to know how to say it, in cyber talk. There’s a whole nother world out there that some of us don’t know anything about. Good Luck and best wishes.

I am actually quite familiar with 10x and their company. My previous company did some work with them and they were very professional. However, the real estate market is a brand new approach for them as they used to just specialize in SEO for everyone. This seems to be a new focus on the real estate market whereas they were all over the place just a few months ago. I would be interested in seeing how this works out for realtors.

Once again I am the sucker that wasted my money. Signed up with them September 28th. Nothing happening with the site. It also looks like a child put it together and they still don't have my contact info. currect.I am not even sure it's live on the net.
I was supposed to receive a progress report in December and have not. I have emailed 10-15 times with no response.
In the meantime my site has been showing up on page one of yahoo for the key terms I've focussed on, on my own with no expense. Last time I checked I was number 3. There are forums for SEO and simple techniques you can learn for free and I think pay per click would be more advantageous than 10x.
I am writing, calling and emailing on Monday for my "guaranteed refund". Hope this keeps someone else from wasting $$$. (I have done some strange things this year just to test and for the writeoff...)

Run for the hills!!!!!!!! How ironic I just came upon this site today.....the day that I sent in my "written notice" to cancel for failure to perform. 10x-media sounded like a great idea. Money back was guaranteed, but only after 6 months. I requested to have my money refunded the first time, but they said they had everything figured out and would give me the first 6 months free (it was never working!) and they gave me a new contract. So now after 1 year of absolutely no results and most disappointing was that there was ABSOLUTELY NO communication. I also had 4 customer service representatives within 11 months.

I will let you know if I actually receive my refund or not!

Happy Selling!

10x media promised leads in 4-6 weeks. I gave them six months and they produced nothing but excuses. They wanted to give me a 6 month extension. I said that I wanted a refund as per the contract and emailed the cancelation notice on 12/02/05. As of 02/17/06 I have only received promises and excuses ( the checks in the mail) so much for there 15 day refund that is in there contract. When they tried to produce reports with the search engine they used different key words than what they had told me that they would use. My original sales person is gone and service rep. I wish I visited this site sooner. I seem to be repeating other peoples experiences. I would stay away from 10x Media.

Get Movin, Did you get your refund? They finally called me today after 5 months of no reply, no site, no nothing and tried giving me a speal about how they are working on the site and resubmitting to search engines etc. How can they resubmit something that was never completed and never submitted? I told her I was unhappy have already emailed that I want to cancel etc. She told me my contract began in October and I can cancel in April. I told her my contract was signed in September and I don't expect any problem getting my refund in March as they promised. Will keep everyone posted on whether or not they honor the refund policy.

Hm, maybe I'm lucky to have stumbled upon this post. I know people who work for 10x Media, and it hardly seems like a scam. I think they have around 100 employees or something.
To keep the argument fair, keep in mind that people who are dissatisfied are a lot more vocal and willing to share their experiences. Call up 10x Media and ask them for success stories. The company has been around for several years now, and if their business strategy was to keep people's money and produce no results, I doubt they'd still be in business.
So yeah, ask them for success stories, and if there is a money back guarantee, that's saying something about their confidence.

Bnizzle, are you getting results from 10xMedia? You are using their lead capture pages. What kind of lead results are you getting from them. THey've been calling me every week for the past few months to try and sign up for their service in my market. It's a little fishy to me.

I used there service and never received any leads or high placement on the search engines. There contract stated you had to give it a try for 6 months before getting a refund. It took me hounding and pestering them for 90 days to get my refund. I also placed a complaint with the BBB in Utah I would not use them.

10X Media told agents at a local Realtor expo in my city that they were responsible for the succes of my site. An agent heard that and called me from their booth and asked if it was true. Of course 10x was lying. They just never expected anyone to check their claims.

Save your money.

I am still awaiting refund which was promised to me by end of April. $1600. In the meantime I am receiving lots of calls and emails from other people taken by 10x. One of them a Real Estate Broker and Attorney. Seems to me an Attorney would know how to get his money back. No offense to the Attorney just pointing out that if he is having difficulty obtaining his guaranteed refund so will you.

I promised to share the following email. We are trying to band together with any others who have been taken by 10x. If you are also a victim read the email below and let's get these guys.

"We spoke this afternoon about 10x Media. I did some calling and searching around and found a website that might be able to help us get our money back. If you go to http://dcp.utah.gov/ and click on the “Enforcements” tab that will take you to a page where you can download a complaint form (PDF). I spoke to an investigator at the Utah Department of Consumer Protection and he said the office is well aware of 10x and the problems they have caused. For some reason I don’t quite understand because I am not directly involved in the purchase of services from 10x, (my mother purchased.) there is waiting period of 8 months from the time of original purchase before the investigators can hammer down on this company. I am just at 8 months as I believe you said you were too. You will need to send in a copy of your original invoice to prove you have purchased from 10x. A copy of your credit card statement is acceptable but I understand if this goes to mediation or court the real weight is in the original invoice (which unfortunately we cannot find but we are still searching!). Lastly, the investigator said the more complaints the more weight he has against 10x, so if you can pass this information on to anyone you know might be dealing with 10x it would probably benefit all of us."
