When checking out reciprocal link requests for the EpoweredProfessionals.com Directory I can't believe how often I view sites that have the agents photo and name on it - but little or no other contact info.

No company, address, phone number - often I can't even tell where in the world this agent is trying to do business as there is no mention of a city or state anywhere on the site!

Not only are the web sites invisible on the web but the agent is anonymous too. I guess there are lots of agents out there who could benefit by an occasional visit to these forums \:\)

LOL, Doug - commonly known as "secret agents"

Don't be a secret agent. Let us know who you really are and where you are. Don't you care about getting referrals that are genuine - Realtor to Realtor?

Photo, but no contact info? Seems like they're wasting their time AND not paying attention to detail.

Hey, you have got to love agents like that. They make it easier for the more qualified ones out there. No need to eliminate the competition when no one can find them in the first place!

I agree Doug. Sometimes being so close to something (as you are when you create it) means you often overlook the most important fundamentals.

I conducted a Realtor website survey not long ago -- www.armingyourfarming.com/websurvey -- and I noticed a lot of sites with hard-to-find contact information.

Equally important (but often missed) is the need for some form of information capture, whether it's a newsletter sign-up box, a "market update" form, or a registration for a free report.

I once stumbled across an agent's website that had a photo and a phone number. Nothing more. No links or anything. It basically says "I can't give you a single reason to call me ... but here's the number if you need it." :-)

Good point. Not sure if these agents would pay attention to detail on contracts, so maybe it's good that they didn't include contact info.

Would you consider it a negative to not have an agent or agents picture(s) on the home page if your website features a team of realtors?

You don't need the team member pictures on the home page but there should be an "About" page somewhere on the site that has agent photos, bios, and contact info.

I don't think a picture is as important as contact information, which is what I was speaking to. Most people want to know who you are, so a simple "About Us" would be nice, but at the very least, visitors should know how to contact you.

Can't expect more from a techy than the website... but here's a hint... PUT CONTACT INFORMATION ON EVERYTHING...EVERYTHING yep I'm shoutin' I've been amazed to see it lacking from otherwise intelligent gents. (The other day some idiot --not a realtor-- handed me a business card with what he did and a phone number, no name.) Thank you notes, document binders, disclosure forms, folders, signs (your contact info, at least with if not instead of, the offices) Christmas cards (okay not too tacky, but if they get it think of you and can't call, why send it?? make it small and pretty) If you take Real Estate Mags to an open house, plaster a label on 'em with your phone number, if you give out bottles of wine at an open label those too...

Here's one, put your phone number on your office sign... 90% of the folks that drive by it have a phone in their hands.

Contact info... everywhere (I hope this high level marketing secret can be shared on an open forum, maybe I should keep it quiet and sell seminars instead :p )
