I have several dummy pages online for my son's site and would appreciate your comments. Please note: all of the listings, photos and text are faked up and none of the links will work. Most of the links in the left column of the "inside" pages will lead to info request forms.

Craig recently became a Realtor/broker after some ten years as a well known whitewater kayaking instructor in his community, which is "Mecca" for whitewater boaters throughout the Southeast. He's affiliated with a Century 21 office, but will probably get most of his business through his contacts in the paddling community, so I have played down the Century 21 connection. Most of his customers are likely to be fairly young. Kayakers spend so much time in the mountains that the mountains eventually feel more like home than whatever city they live in.

Here are the dummy pages I have online so far:

http://www.craigparksrealtor.com/
http://www.craigparksrealtor.com/featured_toc.html
http://www.craigparksrealtor.com/details2.html
http://www.craigparksrealtor.com/details3.html

When the site is finished, these pages will be set up for editing with no HTML skills in Macromedia Contribute, with the exception of the rollover house photos, which Craig will have to do in Dreamweaver.

Thanks very much for your time and input.
Suzanne

my monitor is a bit contrasty so the menu is a strain, but I must say, your logo.gif combined with the standing_portrait.jpg is a smashing combo and would make a wonderful color brochure.

The site looks nice but I am not sure your content on the landing page is very effective. What is the purpose of the site. Is it a lead generation tool that will offer access to mls listings? Or is it to show Craig's value proposition? The first page (the landing page?) does not do either of these effectively. Whatever the purpose of the site is should be simply and prominently featured the moment a person lands at the site. Our small web site get anywhere from 10,000 to 15,000 unique visits per month and 99% of the page views are of the search page and results. We could probably wipe out 80% of our site and no one would notice. Point being your site can be pretty (and yours is) but if users don't find what they are looking for or what you promised them imeadiatly they are gone.
Hope this helps!

The fourth site is nice. Forget all the fancy net stuff. In terms of lead generation yadda yadda. I got tons of this stuff and it is what is sometimes you get some good leads but mostly lots of crap with extra work attached. Your son should focus on his strengths and unless someone completely reinvented the business it is still a relationship business. His first priorities should be to develop a business plan and then work the you know what out of it. My experience tells me a guy who does what he does has some courage and yes he'll got tossed around abit in this business to. If he learns quickly and has the personality (his own)...He'll make more than enough in time to determine what type of technology he wants to integrate.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
