We have developed a website we are about to launch and we have an extensive real estate section on the site. We will be selling listing slots but I wanted to find out from Realtors out there what are features you look for when listing your properties on a website? What features do you like and are most helpful to you? I want to make sure this is tailored to best serve the Realtors needs.
Thanks for you input.

In order for me to advertise a listing on your site it would be very, very important to me to know how potential buyers are going to find it???

Are you prepared to share the URL at this point so we could have a look???

Thank-you for your response. We have hired a marketing team and we are in the process of working on a marketing plan. Once it is complete I will be happy to get you the details. We expect everything to be ready to go this week. Your opinion will be very valueable to me. I do not want to disrespect the rules of the forum by even remotely looking like I am advertising in this section so I will e-mail you an address you can go to see the website. Please keep in mind the website still needs a few finishing touches.

Good deal; I'll look forward to reading about it.

In the meantime could you answer my original question: "In order for me to advertise a listing on your site it would be very, very important to me to know how potential buyers are going to find it???"

How would potential buyers find my listngs on your new website???

On every page of the website there is a real estate section they can click on and it will take them to the real estate section of the website (some pages have more than one entry to the real estate section). Once the buyer is in the real estate section they can search for properties by state. We are looking to also get a search by city to help narrow the search as we grow and have many properties listed. You will have your own page with your picture and bio. Each house you have listed on the website will be on this page and someone can send you an e-mail from this page as well. Each house will open to its own page with specifics regarding the house, additional pictures as well as a map to the property. If someone is searching for a house in TN and all the houses pull, they can click on the one they find of interest and can click from there to your bio page. The buyers will be able to create and account and store the house and agent information in their own account.

As far as the marketing plan we are paying to have the meta tags serviced each month to have a high ranking (first page placement) on the search engines. The marketing firm will also call each major search engine to get the website listed. We are doing banner ads and ppc's. The marketing firm has an excellent click fraud prevention system in place to make sure the clicks we receive are valid clicks. Our short term goal is 1 million visitors per month by six months.

I hope this satisfies your question. If not please let me know.

The marketing firm will 'call" each major search engine to get the website listed? You've GOT to be kidding. I hope you misunderstood... and if you didn't... cancel payment on that check. You're being taken for a ride....

If it were only so easy to 'call the search engines'... that's just too funny. And they're 'servicing' your META tags? I'd call a prostitute... they're probably cheaper for 'servicing' than this company...

It sounds to me like your 'marketing firm' needs to be replaced... they're feeding you a whole lot of bull....

I agree with RealEstateWebGuy... either you're taking "us" for a ride, or they're taking you for a ride. Either way, count me out... I don't ride with strangers. (unless youhave candy) \:\)

PS. Our short term goal is to have 5 billion visitors per day! (we all need a dream)

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
