In my humble opinion they are Yesterdays News Montanaland. The days of requiring a person to give up info for absolutely any information are over. We have lots of clients who had them back in the day when that sort of thing used to work if you could drive enough traffic to them with offline advertising. Nowadays, you'll spend most of your time chasing after bogus leads even if you do manage to garner some responses. I guess I have a higher bar on what I consider a vialble lead I'm sure you'll get some current or former owners to reply here

The Success Websites are not designed to rank well on the internet. They are designed to be a second point of contact where you run adds offering reports and such and then direct people to your website to pick them up. You may hear some say they are getting leads from the internet but they are not really - they are getting conventional advertising leads that are being processed on a website - there is a difference. The Success sites are not lead generating websites they are lead processing websites.
If you want to actually get prospects from the internet you will need to advertise it extensively using pay-per-click $$$$$

I want to add, that to get prospects doing "pay-per-click" is not the only way. Just want to clarify that.

Here is a fun little excercise for you - if you have a "Success" website (or know someone who does), search for your name in Yahoo - did you find it? Your name is the easiest search term to rank for - if you don't show up #1 in a search for your name you know for sure that you will not show up for any search terms.
Go ahead try a few other names of people with these "Success" sites - try "craig proctor" - did you find his craigproctor.com site? No.
Don't you think that if just one "Success" website was going to rank well it would be the poster boys?
It has been like this for years. In fact, if you trash the site and get a new one from another provider re-using the same domain name - you will find that site will never rank either (personal experience talking here).
Now try it on Google - the situation is not as bad but it is still there.

Success websites are horribly cluttered and were a turnoff before I became an agent. I think they also make an potential client sign up to receive the reports instead of just having great content readily available. I signed up for the reports and then got spammed by the agent for a year or so.
Didn't use her.

Our websites for the last several months have produced over 3000 leads per month and over 400,000 home views. We do require that our visitors register for using our system. Anyone who is truly looking to buy or sell a home doesnt mind registering to find homes for sale or getting information on selling their home. 93% of our leads that come in are good leads with correct information. In my humble opinion by making the consumer register you weed out more of the looksy Loo's.

I want to know how many of the leads actually convert to sales and in what timeframe.

Presently we are seeing on average about a 1.2 % conversion rate for that month of the leads to contracts.
Not every lead that comes in is looking to buy or sell today or even in the next month, some of those are looking as far out as 6 to 9 months, so the conversion is scewed. As long as these prospects are followed up with and receive timely responses, they will convert as well.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
