I accepted some BPO's in a rural area, and now we are being hit with a snowstorm. Has anyone had experience with calling and asking for an extension if you can't get to a house to take a picture? Are they generally understanding? I just traded in my SUV, maybe that was a bad move! These are Land AM. Just curious.

I had outstanding BPOs and got hit by a hurricane before. They put them on hold until I was able to get to them safely.

Maybe you should have traded the SUV for a sno-mobile.

You must be near me. I had 1 from EML that I wasnt going to be able to get to. They offered the extension without me asking. Im glad I knocked a couple of them out this morning before it hit.

I did have a couple of broadcast emails this morning. Apparently alot of agents around here arent accepting orders b/c of the snow.

I am going thru the same thing right now. Just call and they will almost always give an extension. I have some due also, and with the way everything is getting covered in ice and snow right now...there is no way I can drive in this. The co's are usually very understanding.

Hey there sisters I’m in the same boat now too. I got all my pictures done yesterday and figured I’d do the paperwork today. Well where I live in OH they were only calling for a few inches of snow. Like 3inc.… So when CC sent me an order last night I went ahead and took it and thought I‘d grab the picture today.. Well the storm shifted and now we have 6inc so far they are now calling for 12-15 and to beat that is also freezing rain right now too. I called the CC am and she said let me check the weather forecast before I’ll extend it. Put me on hold for a few min then came back and said and I quote “ Well it looks like it is going to stop tomorrow afternoon. So I can’t extend it right now” I said ma’am right now they are calling it a blizzard, we are on a level 3 snow emergency( NO cars allowed on the road) and this property is 20 miles from town on a country 1 lane road. It most likely be this weekend before anyone can get there. Well our dead line is 8 am tomorrow morning so we’ll have to wait to then and talk about this… I just said Ok I’ll call you in the morning………

If a property is in a rural area (the two I have to do may even be on gravel roads that are impassable), and the news stations are telling people to stay off the roads, it seems that the smart thing to do is not risk getting in a bad situation for $50. I am waitng until tomorrow and hopefully it will improve... If not, I will call and try to get an extension!

Snow.... isn't that the stuff you put in a paper cone and pour cherry syrup over??? If you drive over it, don't think anyone would eat it. And at near 70 degrees it would probably melt anyway....
