We've had to ask for extensions when we had a recent ice storm, and even when we were having floods. The BPOs companies we work with have always been understanding. They just want a heads up on what's going on with your orders.

I agree with that.....we do not have it blowing here today and all of the orders I am taking are in a close radius, so I do not have too far to go and get them...Hope all of you stay nice and warm.

Last spring I was turned around by fire police enroute to BPO durring the beginning of what bcame a fairly extensive flooding in the western Catskill Mountains. I contacted the client and they extended the time to complete the report. A second one from the same company came in that was also in the effected area. I was able to complete them about a week late with no issue from the client. What a mess when I was able to get in: trees and brush lodged against guard rails, sections of highway washed out with alternating direction one way traffic on what remained, slabs of village sidewalks standing on edge, etc. Fortunately the subject properties were uneffected due to being on higher terrain.

In a former life I had to be in Ohio about this time of year almost every year from 1989 to 1996 for several weeks. Had to test explosives at Revena Army Arsenal. Really got my fill of the Lake effect snows as I was always flying in and out of Cleveland and the hills and roads between Akron and Cleveland were a real joy to sky down in my rented CAR.
I really don't understand living in that stuff!!! It's would seem like being in Jail. I would rather go out for a sail.
Of course we also have occasional weather problems, yesterday a tornado or two and the occasional huricane... but with a hurricane... unless your stupid... you can get out of the way if you want!!!

Supposed to get in the 40's and 50's here in Ohio this week and I am awaiting that day. Going on these rural orders in a sports car, just doesn't mix!!They get no attention from the snow plows..and it gets bad with ice and snow. I need sun and atleast 50 degrees, I can't wait until it comes!!!Then I can get back to work as normal:)

My husband has tried many times to get me to trade in my car and get an SUV but letting my car go would make me sad. I am just glad that the companies I work for understand. They have given me alot of extensions until the weather gets better in the rural area's.

The good thing about the snow is that occupancy checks are easier. At least until the past few days I could tell when no one had been in or out of the house.
