What do you normally get charged for a trash out? And what do you expect?

That obviously depends on the amount of work/trash that needs to be dealt with. Every job is different.

My husband does trash outs on the side for different realtors. He has to quote each job individually. He bases his quotes on how large of a dumpster he'll need, if he needs to hire an extra guy or two to help him, how much time it will take him and if there is anything that needs to be disposed of specially, like tires. He's quoted jobs for as little as $350 and as high as $5,000. It just depends. The $5,000 quote was a REALLY bad one. He didn't get that one but it was a tri level and the lower level had about a foot of water in it. He didn't get the job but he would have had to get the water out and then everything down there would have been wet and nasty. We figured we would have had to get about 4 - 30 yard dumpsters. It would have taken a couple days with a couple guys. Yes, it was that bad.

When my AM's let me hire the trash-out crew, there are 2 I normally work with, though one is my first choice by far for the quality of work that they do. One job, they got paid $900 and had about 2-3 feet deep trash through the whole house, carport, and storm cellar. Another time, they got the same amount for less stuff, but it was scatterd all over 3 acres in the weeds. The easiest was a $300 job for them. They are not getting rich at this work, but they sure keep busy doing this, the yard care and janitorial services...
