Have the people at EML lost their mind?????? Yesterday I got a BPO request from them for $45. They wanted me to drive 40 miles in the snow and Ice take 4 pictures of the property & 1 looking down both sides of the street. And they wanted it it by 10am today. They sent it to me at 4:45 yesterday...... I sent them an email and said thank you, but Iam going to have to pass on this one. First off I told them I work for between $50 & $100 depending on how far it is and what all they want done. Second of all they sent ot to me at 4:45. In Ohio it is dark by 5:25 or so. and to top ot all off they wanted it rushed.. If I was wrong please let me know, but to do all that for $45 I thought was CRAZY>>>>

I will always consider the source and the volume on any orders. If a company sends me a lot of work for an acceptable fee and then asks for either a rush or a lower one-time fee, I will more apt to do it. If it is a company that continuously lowballs their fees and/or sends me two jobs a month every other month, I will reject the work.

It's a scratch either other's back type of business to me.

I recently signed up with Farvv. I've seen many low dollar rush orders from them too. I've rejected them all. In addition, they constantly send me orders outside of my defined coverage area.

I worked with emort for 3 months sometime about 2 years ago. I took a bpo in a bad area and I couldn't get the front shot. I circled twice, but a group of people were yelling at me to get lost. I was so frustrated I told them I can't do it. So that was the last order I got from them. In 3 months I had about 20, then nothing. They keep saying I'm active, but I never got anything back. I wonder if they have a black list, do something wrong and you are done, no more orders.

I lived on "Crack Alley" in KC many years ago and learned that if you respect them, they'll respect you. The ppl who had a "better than thou" or a paranoid attitude got messed with.

This is how I'd handle it: I'd get out of my car and walk up to them and say "hey, this is what's up with me - I just need to take a picture of this house - what's up with you? Would you like to be in the photo? haha! This'll only take a sec."

If they know you're cool and you're not out to get them or insult them with attitude, they're totally cool right back.

I'm more frightened of homeless people because they're likely insane and I'd never try to get around them.

Soldhomes I too share your frustration sometimes.
BUT here is the key most agents do not think about the am for these companies assigning the orders do not know what the weather is like where you live or the conditions, all they know is they have a deadline and a client payign them to get the job done and that is there job.

I have worked with eml for over a year and have completed many for them.It sounds like you recieved an order that someone messed up and they had to reassign.I always call in these instances and explain that it's in a rural area and that I will have to have a couple days more time to complete they never give me a problem.

The bottom line is they do not have a clue what we go through to get these done and you have to explain why it will take a certain amoutn of time to do the difficult ones.

Eml always pays 45 but if you complete in 24 hours 55 for an exterior and 80 for an interior.

Its actually an extra $10 within 48 hours. Just call them and say you need an extra day. Eml gives me alot of work so I dont ask for an increase if its a rush order.

It's not at all crazy for them. I bet they got someone to do it for that fee. Maybe the person who accepted it might be crazy, but not EML, they were smart!

I'm confused.

Did you accept the order and then email them telling the you wouldn't/couldn't do it due to constraint issues?

Or did you see the order and email them and tell them that you wouldn't work for that low of a fee?

I did NOT accept the order Iemailed them and told them I wouldn't work for a fee that low. They add $10 if you do it on time, but still $55 for all that NO thank you...

I just wouldn't have accepted the order. No need to send an email.

Did you get a response?

BTW, one of those $55 orders has paid off for me big-time. You just never know...

JMO - YMMV

Heck, I'm more surprised that you got a response from your email, than I am that they wanted to pay you $45 for a rush! \:D
