I have my email sent to my cell phone whenever Protek or ClearCapital send me a potential job. But if I am out in the field I will lose the job for not responding fast enough. I could use my laptop and my cell phone to connect but even in that amount of time the job is gone.

I tried accessing the protk.com website with my phone using Mobile Web but received an error message Verizon said was the protk.com site's problem. I think it's because the site is not wireless-friendly (WAP-style).

Has anyone else found a solution to this problem?

yes - I just call them when it comes in. My Rep has accepted them for me when I explained the situation to her. So when I see it on my cell I just call.

I have gotten a few jobs by calling Pro-Teck, but usually that is not fast enough in my area. I lost all jobs that I have to accept this week and I have noticed a mobile alert delay between my email and my text message, so I called my cell phone provider and had them delete and add my text message service back in. Then they tested it and I received the TM within a few seconds. I'm still not sure that my yahoo email is fast enough.

Why wait for the e-mail? Stay logged in, the job pops up as available before your e-mail hits the in box. Ever wonder how the other agents are so fast?

dmccallum, I found that a lot of these phones access the internet, but does not allow you to go pass the logging in point on secure sites. I was told by some sales agent in the stores that a regular cell phone with internet usage does not do the job for business and accesing secure sites. I'm waiting on the treo 700 to come out in order to access the web without limitations. I hate to come all the way home to find a job when it was right down the street from where I was or como back home to upload a picture in order to send the report.

You can always go to Pro-teck site and click on New to check for available work. Sometimes, you can catch the order before it's sent to email. I don't work with Pro-teck any more to many agents in the area working for the same company.

I sure wish more companies would go to auto accept. It sure would make our lives much easier! Yesterday I accepted a BPO from a company. It was a little out of my area, but I accepted because it was the only one I got all week (very unusual). While I was gone taking photos of that home, I missed 6 jobs in my own little town!!! Hate to spend $ on an expensive phone...

Realtorgal- if you had done those 6 jobs you missed, it would have probably paid for the phone, though...
Where I live, the cell phone service is so sporadic that it makes not sense to get a good phone. I cannot get my messages if I'm not in my service area, and half the places I go have no service. I will, eventually, invest in a better phone, but I'm not sure that will help if I'm in Roam or have no signal at all. I know I have missed a lot of orders, but most of my companies are auto accept and send only me the order, so I keep fairly busy all the time, and still have time to actually sell real estate!
