Have you found that representing buyers over sellers or sellers over buyers has been more successfull? Do you think it depends on the agent? Or do you do better representing both? Sorry about all the questions I've been asking, I hope I'm not causing to much trouble to you guys/gals.

Each agent has what they love about the business. I like analysis and leverage, so like working with sellers. For buyers, I prefer investors. Listing gives you buyers and they can pay off a little more quickly than some buyers.

Both are great!!! Listings are great when they are priced right and sellers are more rational. Buyers are always fun specially in ths market...Listings help you to put your name infront of people and grow your business.

I am with Dee on this one.
I prefer sellers and/or investors.
I am also not a huge fan of open houses - but I am good at them. I will often have agents from my office run an open house. Be picky when you do this tho. Remember, these folks actions and professionalism will reflect on you.

Well, it took me fourteen years to sum up the courage to do so, but I struck out on my own in 2002 to work solely for buyers and I've been having a ball ever since, not to mention making a lot more money in the process. Perhaps I should have done it much sooner -- except that I probably wouldn't have known enough then about how to do the job properly. But it's all positives. I know and they know that there's "the one right house out there." All we need to do is work together until we find it. On the other hand, listings are full of negatives -- too high a price; not the sort of house that's selling quickly nowadays; no phone calls, no showings, no offers --- grrr, how you keep a seller happy with all these problems? Good for you Duncan. I am setting up a team to handle all buyers. The good thing about this business is that most personalities have the ability to be successful, especially if you do what you're passionate about.

Dee, you always have great advice and replies. And you're right, if you love what you do and are enthusiastic about it, work hard and do the right things, success will follow.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
